Yes, I see the whimsical nature of the title but for those of us who find ourselves sensitive to gluten, this is serious.
I feel sleepy after eating wheat so now I am paying attention and recording what I eat and how I feel after 2-3 hours. Some of you may identify with this. I’ll keep my discover(is) posted!
A more nuanced consequence of gluten often leads to osteoporosis! Basically an element of gluten, phytic acid attaches to calcium on its way away from being absorbed by bones! This results in brittle bones. I say nuanced because of the normal range for blood calcium which according to National Institutes of Health should be “…maintained within a fairly narrow range from 8.5 to 10.5 mg/dl.”
Current western medical consensus will not address possible decreasing bone density until age 50! If anything you may get a diagnosis of hypercalcaemia! If so I advise a bone density test to at least have more knowledge about what is happing with your body! Glorious gals all believe knowledge is power!
